Are we now in a secular society? We have moved past the era when most respectable people went to church, and shops didn’t open on Sundays. Is anyone interested in Christianity today? These are questions I put to Yan Nicholls, who is a modern-day missionary, training ordinary people to share their faith. Actually, Yan concludes that people really do want to know what it’s all about, and more than that, whether it’s actually true. He often has to convince Christians that other people really want to know about Jesus. Yan also considers that loving friendship is a key, a way in, to talking to people about spiritual concepts. He believes that this job is not just for the clergy!
