In One to One this week, John Hopkinson introduces us to a thriving organisation welcomed in most schools in St Albans and Harpenden, whose staff and volunteers take school classes on many aspects of Christianity in a really innovative way. The RE staff encourage STEP, and see their pupils feeling free to say they don’t believe in God. STEP has activities such as a game which points to the need for Fair Trade, or “away days” which include physical games, discussions, quizzes, maybe even pottery. John has been volunteering with STEP for about four years, and wouldn’t miss a minute of it.
