In One to One this week, Elspeth enjoys chatting to Justin Hardy, who has recently moved up from Bournemouth to take over the St Albans Eye Care Centre. Elspeth asks about the history of eye care, and of course, Justin points out that when the printed press was invented, many more people were reading, and so needed to see properly. Today, as in many other fields, we see how modern technology is coming into its own, which is integral to his practice, although Justin says that what he enjoys most is the interaction with different sorts of people. Of course, there’s always the choice of glasses or contact lenses, and to Elspeth’s surprise, he has actually fitted contact lenses for a four year old, who now manages them herself.
