Sylvia Court is this week’s podcast guest for Elspeth’s One to One, and her enthusiasm for the sport of netball is catching. What was once only a sport for girls in secondary schools, is now attracting children, young people and adults of all ages, and there is even the choice of “walking netball” for the those with mobility issues, take up something new or looking to get back into sport. Sylvia is a trained umpire and trains others, and has even coached netball teams in Malawi, where balls are in short supply. Like some other previously supposed single-sex sports, boys and men are enjoying netball, now no longer seen as just a women’s sport. This is an update we can’t ignore!
