After two rainy but delightful holidays on the canals, Elspeth remembers how she and her husband bought their own canal boat – cruiser style – called the Charlotte Rose. With their daughter they would explored the local waterways. She recalls their mistakes, their trepidation when they first had to take their boat through a long tunnel, and their pleasure in locking up with people. This brings us a different view of the area, showing us the canal-side view of several towns and villages local to St Albans.
