Black and British

Following up her choices of books around Black Lives Matter from August 2020, Clare Hobba realised she had recommended American authors. While reading about experiences from all around the world is important, she wanted to bring you some options by British authors. Her suggestions are: Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo, 26a by Diana Evans and Why I am no longer talking to white people about race by Reni Eddo-Lodge. Or if you are looking for something to watch, try Steve McQueen’s Small Axe films on BBC iPlayer.

Clare Hobba is an Author & Creative Writing Tutor, she runs an excellent Creative Writing Course starting in April. For her blog about making a new life after the kids leave home My Moon-shot – A sideways look at empty nest syndrome.
